Why I love being a Charleston, South Carolina Photographer

There are so many reasons why I love being a Charleston, South Carolina Photographer. From the gorgeous coastline to the historic downtown area, this city offers so much to love and I want to share some of my favorite reasons why it is so special to photograph here.

Florals year round

Charleston offers a wide variety of beautiful florals year round. Starting in the winter, the Camellias and Magnolias make their arrival which leads to one of my favorites for the year, the Azaleas. These magnificent flowering bushes line all the parks, plantations and yards in Charleston. You will also see the gorgeous Wisteria around this time as well! Jasmine starts to pop up a few months after and are usually accompanied by the climbing roses. After the spring blooms, the summer florals start to happen. The most prominent are the Crepe Myrtles. You will see these flowering trees everywhere throughout the city. There are many more beautiful florals that blossom throughout the year, these are just some of my favorites!

Many different backdrops

Another reason why I love being a Charleston, South Carolina photographer is the amazing inspiration I get from all the different backdrops that this city has to offer. Whether you are looking for the serene beaches to the eclectic homes of historic downtown, there are so many different locations that can give evoke any type of vision you are looking for with family photos. Along with those two areas, the plantations and parks around Charleston are absolutely beautiful backdrops to shoot at as well!
